Flight attendants at Austrian Airlines are getting a sleek new wardrobe. Vibrant crimson — the airline’s signature color — provides a cheerful focal point, with tailored silhouettes that have a touch of retro in the lines. In the coming weeks, actual flight attendants will vote on whether red shoes and stockings should also be part of the uniform.
The new look was conceived and created by Vienna native Marina Hoermanseder, who studied fashion design at ESMOD Berlin and London’s Central St. Martins College. Hoermanseder earned additional credentials while interning with fashion design icon Alexander McQueen. Her first collection debuted at the 2014 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin and the Fashion Scout in London.
