Chinese carrier Xiamen Airlines announced last month it will launch a non-stop flight between Fuzhou (FOC) and New York (JFK) in February 2017. The Xiamen-based airline said the service will run three times weekly starting next February, and it will use a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner which features a three-class configuration. There are four seats in first class, 18 in business and 215 in economy. The flight will leave Fuzhou at 9:15 a.m. every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday, and arrive at JFK at 10:55 a.m. The return flight will leave from New York at 12:55 p.m. and land in Fuzhou at 5 p.m. the following day (all times local). Reservations have started for the new service. The New York route will be Xiamen Airlines’ second U.S. destination; it will launch a Seattle (SEA) route Sept. 26. The airline has been adding a series of long-haul destinations, including Amsterdam (AMS) and Vancouver (YVR) routes, since the arrival of the 787 Dreamliner. Xiamen Airlines will receive the delivery of its first 787-9 Dreamliner this December. Xaimen also plans to add a route to Los Angeles (LAX) in 2017.
