If you’re a member of Best Western Rewards or you’ve stayed at a WorldHotels property, some big changes are coming to your hotel booking experience and how you earn rewards. BWH Hotels announced a major transformation, bringing more than 4,000 properties across 18 brands and 100 countries together under the WorldHotels name, along with a new loyalty program, upgraded booking tools and a greater emphasis on local experiences.
The changes aim to make it easier to find and book hotels across the company’s extensive portfolio, whether planning a luxury getaway, a quick business trip or an extended stay. And if you’re wondering what happens to your existing rewards points or favorite Best Western property, there’s good news on both fronts.
A Familiar Name with a Much Bigger Reach
You probably know Best Western, but you may not realize how many other hotel brands belong to the same hospitality family. The company’s offerings extend well beyond traditional roadside accommodations, with boutique hotels, upscale urban properties, luxury resorts and extended-stay options around the world.
Under the new structure, WorldHotels replaces BWH Hotels as the global master brand, connecting all 18 brands. But don’t expect to see Best Western signs disappearing from hotels. Individual brands will keep their names, and properties will retain their existing identities. The biggest difference is how you’ll discover and access them. Instead of navigating separate brand identities and loyalty programs, you’ll have a more connected way to explore the entire portfolio.
One Loyalty Program for 70 Million Members
Perhaps the most significant change for frequent travelers arrives Jan. 5, 2027, when Best Western Rewards and WorldHotels Rewards officially combine into a single program called WorldHotels Rewards. The unified program will serve approximately 70 million existing members and introduce three membership tiers, simplifying a rewards structure that previously operated across two programs.
If you already participate in either program, you won’t lose the value of your existing points. WorldHotels confirms current benefits, including points that never expire, exclusive member rates and status matching, will continue under the new structure. You’ll also have additional opportunities to earn points across the expanded portfolio, opening up more hotel options for travelers preferring to concentrate stays within one loyalty program.
WorldHotels plans to announce additional program details Nov. 16, including more information about the new membership structure. For now, the important takeaway is existing rewards retain their value, while the program expands the range of participating accommodations.
A Simpler Way to Find Your Next Hotel
Another major component of the transformation involves how you search for and book accommodations.
A new website and redesigned mobile app intend to bring hotel discovery, reservations and loyalty management together in one place.
The new digital platform goes beyond basic hotel searches by incorporating insights from the people who work at the properties themselves. WorldHotels gathered more than 10,000 hours of input from hotel teams around the globe to develop its proprietary discovery technology. The goal is to help you find accommodations that suit your trip while learning more about the neighborhoods and experiences surrounding them. The platform will also make it easier to manage bookings and rewards activity across participating brands.
What Happens Next?
The transformation is already underway, with a new website launched Oct. 27 and an upgraded mobile app scheduled for Jan. 5, 2027. More details about WorldHotels Rewards arrive Nov. 16. In the meantime, you can continue to recognize and book familiar hotel brands, and existing loyalty members can look forward to retaining their points and established benefits.
Visit WorldHotels.com to explore the portfolio and learn more about the upcoming rewards program.

Oct 28, 2026Review: Caribe Royale Orlando
It’s truly its own universe: Caribe Royale Orlando is a sprawling property beckoning you forward with its coral pink exterior spanning many towers and buildings. The two-level lobby alone feels more like a community than a hotel lobby, with a Starbucks; access to the signature restaurant (in the midst of renovations), sports bar and gift shop; and a plethora of seating options. The bilevel layout also makes the entire space seem larger, opening up to the massive pool awaiting just behind the back doors.

Oct 23, 2026The Flight Less Taken: Unsung Carriers Whisk You Away to Far-Flung Destinations
The miracle of flight feels slightly less miraculous these days. Endless delays, cramped seating and shortchanged amenities feel par for the course, and one can easily forget the wondrous fact that you’re hurtling above planet Earth, soaring above the clouds and across the skies to your destination of choice. In the olden days, you were limited to the fallibility of your outrigger canoe or horse-drawn carriage. It’s not hyperbolic to invoke the invention of the wheel when reminding oneself to stay calm and carry on in coach.
