This fall, White Elephant Resorts, with iconic properties in Nantucket, Massachusetts, and Palm Beach, Florida, officially makes its entrance in the American West with White Elephant Aspen. The new resort will sit in the heart of downtown Aspen, spanning 54 guestrooms and suites with a prevailingly Victorian-inspired aesthetic.

Some accommodations will boast outdoor patios or balconies to take in the mountain air, with all guestrooms and suites featuring Roman clay wall finishes, porcelain tile flooring, rustic stone mosaics and more. Custom furniture includes hand-painted lamp shades, embossed leather headboards, resin coffee tables and oil-rubbed bronze light fixtures. The suite of all suites, the 1,600-square-foot penthouse suite, encompasses three bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, a living room, kitchen and dining space, and 1,600-square-foot balcony.

Signature restaurant Lola 41, also found at the other White Elephant Resorts, makes it way to the new resort, too. Guests can expect inspired seafood and sushi specialties.

Other amenities include a year-round heated pool, two hot tubs and outdoor firepit.

Both common spaces and accommodations showcase more than 125 original works curated by Emily Santangelo, displaying pieces like landscapes by Alex Katz and paintings by Robert Peterson. Rotating photography of Maroon Bells by Bob Tabor will grace the lobby. The property will also partner with Anderson Ranch Arts Center to further highlight local art and culture.

On the Road

As I write this letter, I am halfway across the Atlantic Ocean on my return from an epic golf trip in Ireland. The weather was magnificent: sunshine and no rain ... quite unusual by Irish standards. We were happy to leave our rain gear and extra warm clothing in the hotel rooms as we headed out every day.
