Food & Wine

Enjoy a bounty of seasonal vegetables, fruits, flowers, cheese, fish and meat at Market Bürkliplatz. Held every Tuesday and Friday morning, this market is one of the largest local markets in Zürich and offers some of the best foods.

Wine lovers can enjoy Zürich’s two wineries located within the city, both ideal spots for tastings during the harvest season. Zweifel, a popular chips brand, produces local wine, with roots dating back to the 14th century. Founded in 1834, Landolt, the second winery, boasts one of the most beautiful vineyards in the area, producing 30 different wines with 10 kinds of grapes from the Zürich wine region.

Events

Through Sept. 18, the 11-day Food Zurich festival features more than 100 different events, including professional cooking classes, food tastings, pop-up dinners, kitchen battles, urban gardening and guided tours of the Zürich gastronomy scene.

Don’t miss out on the Zurich Film Festival, Sept. 22–Oct. 2. This festival features more than 160 different movies and sees film lovers and professionals in the film industry come together for an exciting event.

Digital Art Zurich, Oct. 20–30, celebrates digital culture, bringing together 40 nationally and internationally renowned artists. The festival will include talks, installations, workshops, technical innovations in a cultural context, performances and guided tours by the artists.

Expovina Wine Fair, Zürich’s biggest event for wine enthusiasts, comes to the city Nov. 3–17. As one of the largest wine-tasting fairs in the world, this year’s fair, which marks its 60th year, takes place aboard 12 boats docked in Zürich.

Fall Foliage

Head to Uetliberg, an outdoor paradise just a 25-minute train ride from the city. At more than 2,800 feet above sea level, Uetliberg is Zürich’s own mountain, offering visitors stunning views of the city, the lake and the Alps. In autumn, this view features vibrant colors from the surrounding forest’s leaves.

In the Old Town of Zürich, The Lindenhof offers another great viewpoint in the fall thanks to the yellow-leaved trees dotting the landscape. Below the Lindehof lies Schipfe, an area where bright foliage surrounds the river.

Museums & Exhibitions

Running through Jan. 8, 2023, the Niki de Saint Phalle Retrospective graces Kunsthaus Zurich, featuring 150 artworks shedding light on this artist’s revolutionary works and her distinctive style.

At WOW Museum, a museum of optical illusions, take part in the museum’s new activity, the WOW City Rally. In this installation, visitors can experience real-life WOW moments on a walk through the city with animated illusions, different challenges and engaging interactions.

Fairfield by Marriott Phnom Penh Review

Phnom Penh as we imagined it stretches beneath us: a picturesque, low-rise mix of Southeast Asian and French Colonial styles. When the inhabitants of those buildings look back at us here in the Fairfield by Marriott hotel in Chip Mong Tower, they see the future.

Amansara Review

It was more than a car journey; it was a transition between worlds. At our first hotel in Siem Reap, huge coaches constantly pulled up outside the lobby to deposit or receive international tour groups; we departed in very different style, in a 1965 black Mercedes limousine once owned by King Sihanouk. The mundanities of mass tourism were left behind. We progressed through the chaotic Cambodian streets in regal comfort and soon arrived at a solid gate.
