Wrapping up a $39 million renovation, the Westin New York at Times Square revealed a new suite, lobby and restaurant. The Empire Suite, located on the 45^th floor of the 873-guestroom property and formerly the Presidential Suite, covers 1,800 square feet on the top floor. The space offers breathtaking views of Manhattan and adequate room to host small events and meetings. Industrial accents highlight the suite’s urban loft feel, and a glass-writing wall incorporates the latest hospitality technology. The suite includes one bedroom, two bathrooms, a kitchen and living area. The new lobby combines nature with an urban feel, incorporating salvaged Indonesian teak furnishings, a large bookcase and cozy fireplace. The space offers plenty of outlets and USB ports for easy charging on the go. The new Foundry Kitchen & Bar, located on the second floor, offers views of Times Square. The menu highlights casual, shareable plates and pizzas, sandwiches and salads, and the bar serves handcrafted cocktails. The restaurant continues the industrial accents found elsewhere in the hotel, with vintage pulleys and hinges adorning the walls and contrasting against walnut paneling and the copper bar. The changes are the last in a line of renovation phases to upgrade the guestrooms, halls and meetings and event space.
