Now that more vaccines are being distributed, travel is starting to pick up and travelers feel more comfortable flying again. WalletHub conducted a survey to help people pick the best airline for them.

To conduct this study, WalletHub compared the nine largest U.S. airlines and two regional carriers across 17 important metrics. It compared the range from cancellation and delay rates to baggage mishaps and in-flight comfort. WalletHub also looked at the costs in relation to in-flight amenities for fairness.

For the Best Overall Airline, Alaska Airlines earned the title with the highest overall WalletHub score of 56.54 for the third year in a row. The second-best overall airline is Delta Air Lines with a score of 55.98.

Southwest takes Most Reliable Airline. Southwest has the lowest overall rate of cancellations, mishandled luggage, delays, denied boarding and more. United Airlines comes close behind in second.

Alaska Airlines also is Safest Airline, with a low number of incidents and accidents per 100,000 flight operations, fewer than 15 people injured and no fatalities 2014–2019.
If you are looking to bring your pet along with you on your next trip, Most Pet-Friendly Airlines are Alaska Airlines, SkyWest Airlines and Envoy Air — all tied for first.

As for Most Comfortable Airline, JetBlue leads the pack in terms of in-flight experience. JetBlue offers free amenities such as WiFi, complimentary snacks and beverages, extra legroom and more.

High-Spirited Hong Kong: The Dynamic Hub Embraces Its Maritime History and Culture

It was known as the “Kai Tak heart attack” — the thrilling, terrifying final approach into Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Airport. Airliners were required to bank sharply at the last moment, dodging hills and apartment blocks to line up with a runway jutting out into Kowloon Bay. The airport is long gone, but international visitors are arriving at Kai Tak again, albeit more sedately. Their cruise ships dock smoothly at Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, a modern gateway designed by Sir Norman Foster.
