The W Amsterdam opened a second hotel building, the BANK. The new building is located directly opposite the original, boasting the same great location. It offers 66 new guestrooms and suits, an AWAY Spa housed in a bank vault, the X BAR, a fitness center and multiple restaurants. Dining options include The Butcher, a fine burger restaurant, and THE DUCHESS, serving contemporary cuisine in a Viennese-inspired space.

The BANK carries a long history, starting with its construction in 1908. The building’s past is carried into the new design, featuring a gold and diamond theme. Guestrooms include black-and-gold bedspreads, vault-style minibars and Sabrina Bongiovanni throw pillows. The black-and-gold theme continues throughout the AWAY Spa, which offers signature treatments such as the Diamonds Don’t Lie facial.

“A hotel that consists of two different buildings is quite unique. Although the two buildings have their own identity, we managed to create great synergy. Both buildings are inseparable and connected through W DNA, whilst keeping a distinct individual character,” said Liran Wizman, owner, W Amsterdam.
