Thanks to increased air service, visiting the newly opened Angama Mara  luxury safari lodge in Kenya’s famed Maasai Mara is now easier than ever.

Opened to guests this past June high above the floor of Africa’s Great Rift Valley, Angama Mara overlooks Kenya’s Maasai Mara, one of the loveliest game reserves on the continent. The luxury lodge offers two intimate camps, each featuring 15 tented guest suites, nestled on the edge of the Oloololo Escarpment.

To get to the camp, guests can book daily flight connections from three local airlines to the property’s private airstrip from Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

Connections to Nairobi’s airport from around the world are even more plentiful now with the launch of new direct service from Lufthansa. Late last month, the German airline resumed service to Nairobi’s airport after an 18-year absence. Non-stop flights are offered three times per week between Frankfurt International Airport and Nairobi.

Upon arrival in Nairobi, guests are able to book morning or afternoon flights directly to Angama Mara with AirKenya, Safarilink and Governors Air.

To reach this famed remote region of the world, travelers from the United States can also take advantage of flights to Nairobi from South African Airways, Kenya Airways, British Airways, KLM, Emirates and Qatar Airways.

In addition to a famously warm Kenyan welcome, guests are provided with access to a fitness center, a 40-foot swimming pool, a curated gallery of African art and a sun-filled studio where local Maasai women work at beading unique items.
