Vienna draws many thanks to its charm and rich historical heritage, as well as its exceptional qualities, making it an ideal place to work, travel and live. This year also marks the 150th anniversary of the Vienna World’s Fair, a fitting time to celebrate the historic event and the city’s accomplishment as the world’s most livable city. The Vienna World’s Fair opened in 1873 and laid the foundations for a city popular with tourists. The first fair saw a boom in new hotels, cafés and restaurants, many of which still exist today and comprise some of the city’s finest establishments, including Hotel Imperial, Palais Hansen Kempinski Vienna, and Café Landtmann.

Vienna boasts beautiful vineyards dotting the landscape, many existing for generations boasting  important wine-growing traditions. Visitors can taste locally produced wines and learn about the history of winemaking in the region. Coffee lovers are also drawn to Vienna thanks to its coffee house culture, now an emblem of the city’s identity. Vienna’s traditional coffee houses allow visitors to enjoy a cup of aromatic coffee while engaging in lively conversations in a warm and intimate atmosphere. The city’s coffee houses are so important to Viennese culture that they now appear on the UNESCO list of intangible cultural assets.

Vienna’s commitment to the arts through numerous galleries, museums and music venues is another reason the city ranks high among visitors and locals. The city hosts world-class exhibitions, performances and events throughout the year, allowing all to immerse themselves in different cultures.

Fairfield by Marriott Phnom Penh Review

Phnom Penh as we imagined it stretches beneath us: a picturesque, low-rise mix of Southeast Asian and French Colonial styles. When the inhabitants of those buildings look back at us here in the Fairfield by Marriott hotel in Chip Mong Tower, they see the future.

The Argosaronic Islands Are Calling

The Saronic or Argo Saronic Islands of Greece call travelers to explore its seven small islands and islets brimming with history, natural sites and more. With most easily accessible by boat, the islands’ proximity to ports of Athens make the Saronic Islands an ideal destination for those preferring shorter boat rides. In fact, trips from Athens ports to the islands take only between 10 minutes and two hours, depending on the island you choose, making them perfect for day or weekend trips. From Piraeus port, you can access Hydra, Spetses, Aegina and Poros directly. Come explore these stunning islands with us and find the inspiration to plan your next trip to these islands. Hydra Hydra town curves around a slope overlooking the Argosaronic Gulf like an amphitheater and is considered one of the most romantic destinations in Greece. Most unique to the island is its lack of vehicles. People on the island get around on mules and donkeys as well as water taxis, making for a peaceful and laid-back day. Hydra lies a two-hour ferry ride from Piraeus port in Athens.

Amansara Review

It was more than a car journey; it was a transition between worlds. At our first hotel in Siem Reap, huge coaches constantly pulled up outside the lobby to deposit or receive international tour groups; we departed in very different style, in a 1965 black Mercedes limousine once owned by King Sihanouk. The mundanities of mass tourism were left behind. We progressed through the chaotic Cambodian streets in regal comfort and soon arrived at a solid gate.
