News

United Airlines opened its new 13,300-square-foot lounge at Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD). Located in Terminal 2, the lounge features an expansive bar, a lounge area, redesigned furniture, additional workstations and power outlets. The lounge offers complimentary snacks, beverages and WiFi and is the first to feature a new design prototype the airline will use when building and renovating lounges worldwide in 2013. United plans to spend more than $50 million on renovations for several of its 51 United Club locations.

In addition to renovating lounges, United is installing new jet bridges in Chicago, rebuilding the Terminal B south concourse in Houston (IAH) and building new maintenance hangers at Washington Dulles (IAD) and Newark (EWR). The airline invested more than $550 million in fleet-wide onboard improvements, including the installation of 180-degree flat beds in premium cabins on more than 175 aircrafts in 2013 and the launch of satellite-based WiFi on international widebody aircraft.
