United Airlines, Continental and Continental Micronesia flight attendants who came together after the United merger are hosting public protests worldwide. The Association of Flight Attendants is representing the thousands of United Airlines employees who participated in a Day of Action Jan. 21, during which meetings were held to discuss possible strikes, in the event they become a necessary form of negotiation. AFA has been successful in the past in utilizing such unannounced, intermittent strikes.
These meetings were held in a variety of airports, including Denver (DEN), Frankfurt (FRA), Guam (GUM), Honolulu (HNL), London (LHR), Los Angeles (LAX), Narita (NRT), Newark (EWR), San Francisco (SFO) and Washington, D.C. (IAD). AFA is hoping United Airlines flight attendants will be able to reach successful agreements and contract negotiations that have resulted from the merger.
