United Airlines plans to increase service to Tokyo (HND) with new non-stop service from Chicago (ORD), Los Angeles (LAX), Newark (EWR) and Washington, D.C. (IAD). The flights take off March 28, 2020. Currently, United only offers service to Tokyo’s Haneda International Airport via San Francisco (SFO).
“Our new service to Haneda gives our customers more choice and connections to more than 65 destinations throughout Asia. With service beginning next spring, we look forward to providing convenient service for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, and beyond,” said Patrick Quayle, vice president of international network, United Airlines. “United has offered non-stop service between the United States and Japan for more than 40 years and we are excited to expand our Japan network at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport and continue to be the largest U.S. carrier to Japan.”
A Boeing 777-200ER aircraft serves the routes from Chicago, Washington, D.C., and Newark; a Boeing 787-10 aircraft serves the route from Los Angeles; and a Boeing 787-9 aircraft serves the route from San Francisco.
