United Airlines doesn’t want you to get lost — or frustrated trying to find that kiosk with the airport layout map. Recent integration of intelligent indoor mapping technology into their mobile app is set to enhance the airport experience for United customers by telling them not only how to get from point A to point B, but also indicating walk time and identifying the location of escalators or other means of navigating distances more efficiently. Additional features can point out where the car rental desk is located, and where to find an ATM, restaurant or airport hotel. Maps include United’s hubs at Chicago (ORD), Denver (DEN), Houston (IAH), Los Angeles (LAX), New York/Newark (EWR), San Francisco (SFO) and Washington DC (IAD). Currently available for iOS, the United app will be updated and available this autumn for Android with all the same features.
