United Airlines is adding two new flights to its existing Quito–Houston route. Timed to coincide with holiday demand, the new flights commence Dec. 18.
United Airlines flight 1294 will depart from the Mariscal Sucre International Airport on Saturdays and Sundays at 6:30 a.m. and arrive at the George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston at 11:05 a.m. The return flight, United Airlines 1293, will depart from Houston at 11:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, arriving in Quito at 05:29 a.m. the following day.
“There is a direct correlation between promoting the country and increase in demand,” said Paulina Andrade, director of connectivity, Ecuador Ministry of Tourism. “The more we put Ecuador on the map, the more people will want to visit.”
