Ride-hailing giant Uber named a new chief executive officer, Dara Khosrowshahi, who comes to the company from Expedia.
Khosrowshahi, who replaces Travis Kalanick, served as CEO of Expedia since August 2015. He was named after General Electric chairman Jeffery Immelt withdrew from consideration.
The incoming CEO faces big issues, including the company losing millions of dollars each quarter and a business culture that bred allegations of sexual harassment, driver dissatisfaction and corporate espionage.
Prior to this hire, Uber was run by a group of 14 managers. Khosrowshahi also serves on the board of directors for both Fanatics Inc. and The New York Times Co.
