Ride-hailing company Uber added to its dedicated business-travel service, Uber for Business, which initially offered only monthly billing and reporting. There’s now an interface and more control of employee spending.

The company announced changes in a recent blog post to Uber for Business, which include:

• Giving travel managers the ability to set up automated programs for various transportation needs, including commuting and late-night rides
• Establishing parameters on how business travelers, customers and clients can use Uber, such as establishing per-trip spending limits, the type of vehicles authorized, the time of day trips can take place and the locations from which trips must begin and end
• Allowing Uber charges exceeding company-set limits to be billed to an employee’s own credit card
• Assigning individual levels of Uber access, such as by team, level or location

“With the new Uber for Business, every member of the organization — travel managers, finance, HR, and executive leadership — can deliver solutions that improve the business, whether it’s through cost savings, employee productivity or scaling the business,” the company said.

Uber for Business lets companies arrange rides for employees, clients and others through the Uber Central website, plus provides activity and billing reports and direct charging to corporate accounts via the app.
