The newly renovated Palmer House Hilton, an iconic Chicago property, rolls out a new amenity this fall when it becomes the first hotel in the United States to employ the HCN computer tablet Navigator.

The innovation is right in line with the hotel’s history as a leader in the industry with other “firsts” including the first hotel in the nation to employ Edison’s light bulb and to offer in-house telephone service.

The HCN Navigator provides guests with information about the hotel including amenities, services, facilities, restaurants, room service, hotel history, safety and security. This 24/7 self-service portal provides around-the-clock answers to common questions and provides information about Chicago. The Navigators also enable corporate group leaders and convention organizers to broadcast vital event information to their attendees from the comfort of their rooms.

Opened in 1871, the iconic Palmer House has welcomed a host of U.S. presidents in addition to literary greats Charles Dickens and Oscar Wilde and legendary entertainers including Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Ella Fitzgerald and Liberace.
