Thomson Airways, the first airline in the United Kingdom to take delivery of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner earlier this year, will celebrate a milestone when it welcomes its 250,000th passenger onboard its Dreamliner aircraft this month. Since June, more than 240,000 passengers have traveled on more than 860 Thomson Dreamliner passenger flights from the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland to several short-haul destinations and long-haul routes to Cancun, Mexico (CUN) and Orlando (SFB). Its route network will expand this winter with inaugural flights to Jamaica (MBJ), the Maldives (MLE), Thailand (HKT), Barbados (BGI), Kenya (MBA), Cuba (HAV, HOG, SNU and VRA), Goa (GOI) and the Dominican Republic (LRM, POP, PUJ and AZS). “We’re really excited about hitting the 250,000 passenger mark on board the Dreamliner and operating to some different long-haul destinations this winter. As a business, we’ve worked really hard to modernize our holidays and the 787 has been a key part of that,” said Carl Gissing, director of customer service, Thomson Airways. “We knew that customers traveling on the Dreamliner this summer would really enjoy the in-flight experience that this revolutionary new aircraft offers, so we’re delighted to receive such excellent customer feedback.”
