The first Thompson Hotels property in Colorado is slated to open in 2021. Thompson Denver is currently under development a short walk from Union Station.
The 11-story boutique hotel features a modern chalet design, with wood, metal and concrete accents across its 216 guestrooms. The lobby includes an oversized hearth, a grab-and-go café, a juice bar and lounge. Guestrooms are decorated with a brown, green and gray color palette; rooms are furnished with woven gray wool rugs, saddle leather headboards and woven sofas. There are 15 luxury suites and a signature Thompson Suite with its own oversized terrace and dedicated entertaining space.
The signature, all-day dining restaurant seats 90 guests and a sixth-floor terrace with its own lounge and bar seats 140. The extensive area includes a sunroom and courtyard, library, whiskey room, pool table and fireplace.
“Denver has been a priority market for our Thompson Hotels brand and we are excited to have the opportunity to be bringing it to this vibrant city,” said David Tarr, senior vice president, development, Hyatt. “We are looking forward to introducing locals and visitors to the brand’s tailored and refined edge, with its world-class culinary offerings, elevated programming, and groundbreaking design.”

Mar 28, 2024Cruise Lines Elevate the Onboard Fine-Dining Experience
It’s been a long time since the food on cruise ships resembled the bland, uninspired fare that gave onboard dining a bad name. These days, cruise passengers can look forward to menus created by Michelin-starred chefs made with top-quality ingredients served in stunning spaces. Choices abound as well. In addition to elegant main dining rooms, cruise ships have created a huge array of specialty restaurants that focus not only on perfectly executed traditional European and North American dishes but flavors and experiences from around the globe as well. In fact, meals served aboard cruise vessels have gotten so good, they’re drawing passengers onto ships: According to a recent report by luxury travel planning network Virtuoso, advisors report after Europe (specifically Italy and France), the No. 2 dining destination for travelers is aboard an ocean or river cruise. “This shows how cruise lines have really stepped up their culinary game, with consulting chefs and new restaurants and making that a focal point,” said Misty Belles, vice president, Global Public Relations, Virtuoso.
