The Algonquin Hotel, Autograph Collection intertwines modern-day creativity and the hotel’s lasting legacy into every detail New York City welcomes a full renovation just steps from Times Square and Fifth Avenue. ., acting as a gathering place for the city’s literary and cultural lovers.
After a carefully curated, multiyear construction process, the iconic property now features reimagined guestrooms and exclusive custom triptych artwork curated in partnership with The Al Hirschfeld Foundation. Drawn from the entirety of Al Hirschfeld’s 80-year career, each accommodation is decorated with many pieces that have not been publicly displayed in decades.
“Together, the hotel and foundation curated a collection that can’t be found anywhere else and an immerse experience where every hallway, room and detail invites guests to engage with art and storytelling in a deeply personal way,” said David Leopold, The Al Hirschfeld Foundation.
In addition to refreshed guest offerings, the hotel’s culinary experience has also evolved alongside the renovation, including new menu items and cocktails. Extending the hotel’s design narrative, the property honors all artists, performers and personalities who shaped The Algonquin’s cultural identity.
“Our focus was to honor the past without being beholden to it; timeless rooms were built where creativity can be sparked, and our landmark charm will be enlivened,” said Willis Loughhead, general manager, The Algonquin Hotel.
