If your next business trip brings you to Berlin, you will most likely want to see as much of the city as you can. Luckily, there are a number of sights to see in Berlin that can be done on a tight time schedule. From history buffs to architecture fans, there is plenty to see throughout Berlin.
Your first order of business, besides actual business, should be to make a stop by the Berlin Holocaust Memorial. The memorial provides a good chance for visitors to pay respect to the victims of the Holocaust. The memorial is open Tuesday through Sunday, making the memorial a good locale for a weekend visit.
If you enjoy learning about historic sights and government seats, take a trip to the Reichstag building. Constructed in the late 1880s, the Reichstag housed the imperial diet of the German Empire until 1933, when it burnt to the ground. In recent years, the building has become a symbol of Germany’s dedication to renewable energy.
If you are running short on time and only have a few brief moments to explore, stopping by the Brandenburg Gate is a must. The monument was constructed in the 1700s, well before Germany was solidified into a single nation. The gate is one of Germany’s most well-known monuments and definitely worth a visit.
If religion and spiritual history is more your speed, a visit to the Berlin Cathedral is non-negotiable. The cathedral dates back to the 1450s as a place of worship in the city. You can attend service at the cathedral on Sundays. The cathedral also has a museum featuring the history of the cathedral.
You’re sure to be busy on your next Berlin business trip, but there’s always time to squeeze in some sightseeing.
