The Peninsula New York recently unveiled the completion of an interior design refurbishment that refreshed its 219 guestrooms and suites, public spaces, and select dining venues. New York City-based Bill Rooney Studio led the renovation, which began in January 2024 and included the lobby; Reception; Palm Court; and the totally reimagined rooftop lounge, Pen Top.

Upon arrival, guests enter The Grand Entrance with a chandelier over the double-height entry Lobby and marble staircase. Reception and the Concierge Desk were redesigned, now featuring lighter interiors. Palm Court, the central atrium, boats a commissioned triptych from contemporary artist Ricardo Mazal.

All 219 guestrooms evoke a private Manhattan apartment, with light color palettes and high-tech conveniences. Touchscreen tablets offer six languages with a 24-hour digital concierge and more. Suites include three Signature Suites, The Peninsula Suite and a newly renovated Grand Suite.

At the top of the Fifth Avenue icon sits Pen Top, formerly Salon de Ning. A new, operable, louvered roof allows for indoor and outdoor year-round dining. Off the lobby is Gotham Lounge, returning as a piano bar.
