The Kixby Hotel recently opened in the heart of Manhattan’s Herald Square, helping push the neighborhood to the peaks of its former glory.

The Kixby Hotel takes residence in a 1901 building, once the home of the Collingwood hotel. The new property reintroduces the elegance and history the Collingwood once represented.

“Herald Square has always been the heart of New York, and, at this time of resurgence, Kixby will give guests a prime place to experience it,” said Justin Arest, co-owner and managing partner. Arest’s family has operated the hotel since the mid-1990s. “It has become the ideal mix of history, energy and personality, drawing the best traits from neighboring NoMad and Times Square. Kixby will reintroduce many to the neighborhood that, in the early 1900s, was a stone’s throw to the flagships of Tiffany & Co., B. Altman & Co., and Gimbels.”

In addition to the renovated accommodations, the new property is bringing with it some great culinary options. New York City’s Black Tap Craft Burgers and Beer opened a flagship location in the hotel, while The Lookup Rooftop Bar opened on the property’s rooftop last summer.

The hotel features 195 rooms, including the luxurious Lux King and Lux Queen rooms.
