Washington, D.C.’s historic Hay-Adams hotel recently announced the return of its popular holiday tea service for the 2015 season. The all-inclusive experience will be held on four dates during the Christmas month: Dec. 6, 13, 20 and 27, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. The experience will be priced at $50 for adults and $40 for children 12 years of age and under.

The experience will include a variety of tea from the Mighty Leaf Tea Company, which produces handcrafted blends from around the globe. Guests can choose from black, oolong, white, green and herbal teas.

The teatime menu prepared by Executive Chef Peter Schaffrath, Executive Sous Chef Jaime Montes de Oca and Pastry Chef Josh Short is sure to delight. The experience starts off with a selection of savory tea sandwiches such as smoked salmon and dill cream cheese, or cucumber and shrimp salad. Viennese and French confectioneries such as cranberry scones, lemon raspberry tarts and macarons will also be available. Children can choose from their own special menu that blends kid-friendly options with classic teatime fare, such as peanut butter and marmalade, fruit-flavored teas, hot chocolate and more.

The experience is being held in the property’s Lafayette Room, which looks over Lafayette Park and the White House. The dining room will be dressed in its best holiday finery, complete with a pianist performing all of your holiday favorites.
