Whether you’re an accomplished golfer or hoping to hone your skills on the green, Acapulco’s newest golf course should be on your radar.
Named for Lorena Ochoa, a Mexican professional golfer who played on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour from 2003 to 2010 and who was the top-ranked female golfer in the world from April 2007 to her retirement in May 2010, Ochoa Golf Academy at Turtle Dunes Country Club, offers both indoor and outdoor instruction. The program is based on the teaching philosophy of Ochoa’s longtime coach, Rafael Alarcon.
Turtle Dunes Country Club is located on the grounds of the Fairmont Acapulco Princess. Designed by golf course architect and craftsman, Tripp Davis, the 7,200 yard, par 72 course showcases expansive water features, towering parota trees and colorful bougainvillea. The golf course is operated and managed by Troon Golf.
