In an effort to further master the marketing techniques behind Asia’s potential meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions cities, Taipei City Government’s Department of Information and Tourism spent recent months promoting Taipei as a MICE destination throughout Southeast Asia.

In order to continue garnering interest and spreading awareness of the expansion of Taipei’s capabilities as a MICE city, the city’s DOIT traveled to regional cities and nations to promote Taipei. The efforts began with trips to Beijing and Shanghai in March. During these events, officials from Taipei did their best to introduce the benefits of doing business in their home city to visitors.

This awareness campaign centers upon attractions and deals in Taipei, part of the city’s MICE sponsorship program. Items in the program include a double-decker sightseeing bus tour; a Taipei fun pass; and awareness surrounding the Michelin Guide Taipei, a guide to fine dining in the city. During the weeklong event, travellers were welcomed to sample local goods.

In addition to these temporary measures, Taipei made previously popular tour itineraries and tickets available again to further encourage MICE travel to the city.
