Dinner Out in Vegas
As I mentioned in last week's blog, my husband and I spent New Year's weekend in Las Vegas with friends; and although we dined in for the most part, we did enjoy one meal out. We relied on our hosts as well as our friend Tim, who has spent a lot of time in the city, to choose the restaurant. Las Vegas offers so many options for every type of cuisine and at any price point, so we were happy to defer to them. They settled on Nora's Italian Cuisine, a family-owned place that started out in 1992 with seating for 12. Today it resides in a lovely Southwest-modern building with both indoor and outdoor seating on two levels.

The Best Pasta Dish in Jacksonville, Florida
Last weekend, my friends and I planned to meet for dinner at Catullo’s, an Italian restaurant about 10 minutes from the beach. One of my friends made an extensive list on her phone of all the places around Jacksonville she wants to try, and Catullo’s had been a restaurant she had thought about visiting for some time now.
The Best Pistachio Ice Cream
Last week I got the chance to indulge in the best pistachio ice cream I’ve ever tasted. This soft-serve ice cream novelty was churned in a small, locally owned Italian restaurant on Ocean Drive in Miami, Forte dei Marmi. My main course consisted of octopus and artichoke salad, and my colleague Carrie’s was the special of the night, lobster ravioli, while my other colleague Kim’s was fresh-caught sea bass and potatoes.
