The Strand Cruise launched its cruising season this month with a new menu of a la carte shore excursions that allow passengers to personalize their experience in Myanmar. The 28-cabin Strand Cruise operates three- or four-night itineraries between Bagan and Mandalay in Myanmar. On the journeys, passengers are invited to participate in an itinerary of shore excursions, including the pagodas at Mingun and Sagaing, the temple of Maha Aungmye Bonzan and the U-Bein Bridge. Now, The Strand Cruise is the only operator on the Ayeyarwady River to also offer a menu of a la carte excursions to allow passengers to tailor their experience. Passengers work with the onboard team, which recommends the best time of the day to make the trip and provides a car and driver/guide to escort them. The Strand, launched in December 2015, is a reinvention of the iconic Strand Yangon, and was created with the latest in technology, including individually controlled air conditioning; WiFi; and international marine technology. A three-night journey is priced from $1,782 per person based on double occupancy; the four-night journey at $1,976. Rates include excursions and activities as set; three meals during full sailing days; breakfast on the day of disembarkation; soft drinks, local beer and house wine during meals; port charges; English-speaking guides; and satellite WiFi.
