Shortly after opening a W Hotel in Dubai, the W brand debuted its latest property in the United Arab Emirates, W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island. The property is the only hotel in the world located on top of a Grand Prix racetrack. The architectural marvel sits in the racetrack and near the local marina, giving guests additional access to Yas Mall, Abu Dhabi’s biggest shopping destination, as well as Ferrari World and Warner Bros. Studios.
The nearly 500 guestrooms and suites provide floor-to-ceiling views of either the Grand Prix racetrack or Yas Marina. The presidential suite is more than 1,300 square feet spread over two floors and boasts its own private lap pool, sauna and 180-degree views of Yas Island.
From atop the hotel, at the pool bar, guests enjoy live DJ sets and views of the Yas Marina Circuit. For on-site dining, guests pick from Garage, an á la carte dining hub with five concepts for a mix of cuisine, including Lebanese, Peruvian and Japanese; Amici, an Italian restaurant; and Angar, an Indian eatery.

My husband, friends and I visited Parkway Bakery & Tavern on a recent trip to New Orleans. The restaurant is one of the most well-known for the city’s signature sandwich, the po’ boy. The restaurant doesn’t take reservations, so we arrived close to when it opened and braved the already-long line.
A survey conducted by Morning Consult and commissioned by American Hotel & Lodging Association found 44 percent of Americans are planning overnight vacation or leisure travel in 2020, with interest for road trips, family events and long weekends high. Of those expectant travelers, 68 percent say they are likely to stay in a hotel in 2020.
