Beginning this fall, Spirit Airlines plans to offer new routes from five major U.S. cities to the popular vacation destination of Orlando (MCO). High demand (especially during the low season and winter months) encouraged the airline to implement routes between Orlando and cities such as Boston (BOS), Philadelphia (PHL) and Kansas City, Mo. (MCI). Once these three routes have been established, Spirit will also fly daily routes between Orlando and two New York destinations: Plattsburgh (PBG) and Niagara Falls (IAG). Boston and Philadelphia routes will begin in early October, followed by the three other routes by November. There are currently 12 routes that the airline serves between North American cities and the home of Walt Disney World. With the addition of the five new routes, Spirit Airlines will serve Orlando from more than 17 destinations. Based in Miramar, Fla., the airline offers low-cost flights among cities in the United States, the Caribbean, Mexico, Latin America and South America
