Southwest Airlines announced it will take the Boeing 737 MAX planes off its flight schedule through April 13, following the plane manufacturer’s announcement to pause production.

Southwest’s decision to suspend the flights is an attempt to cut back on last-minute cancellations and unexpected disruptions. Passengers who already bought tickets for trips impacted by the decision will be notified and accommodated on new flights.

The move means removing around 300 weekday flights from its schedule. Southwest said it is monitoring “information from Boeing and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on the impending 737 MAX software enhancements and training requirements.”

Southwest previously removed the MAX off its schedules through February and March because of the uncertainty around when the plane would be recertified to fly. Southwest also received a $125 million compensation from Boeing because of the ongoing grounding, and the company said it will share that with its employees. Southwest is the largest operator of the plane, with 34 in its fleet.
