Southwest Airlines announced new routes now bookable through November.
Starting Aug. 10, Southwest serves St. Louis (STL) and Salt Lake City (SLC) with a daily route between the two destinations. The same day, Southwest also begins twice-daily, non-stop service between Baltimore (BWI) and Newark (EWR); Southwest previously served the route in 2013.
Starting Oct. 5, Southwest begins weekend-only service between Nashville (BNA) and Buffalo (BUF); Houston (HOU) and Amarillo (AMA); and Dallas (DAL) and Cleveland (CLE).
“Our network planning team constantly reviews our service to address the needs of more than 130 million annual customers who want non-stop service to places and at times that work for them,” said Adam Decaire, vice president of network planning, Southwest. “We are always looking for opportunities to add new nonstop service for our customers and connect them to the people and places that are important in their lives.”
Etihad Airways, in partnership with Norwegian technology developer Braathens IT, is working on TravelPass, targeted to business travelers as a subscription-based ticketing service.
