Those staying at the SoBro Guest House in Nashville, Tenn., need to be comfortable with technology. With no concierge at the front desk, the only staff members on site are housekeepers and the manager — they have a hands-off approach to connecting with guests.
To check-in and check-out, request restaurant recommendations or ask any questions, guests connect with SoBro via their phones.
Inspired by Airbnb’s do-it-yourself experience, SoBro wants guests to be more independent and in control of the stay. Similar to Airbnb, the entire experience is based on what the guest decides, but mixed with the popular concept of a hotel.
Guests check in online and receive a text message about their room with all the details. There is a grocery service where housekeepers will stock up your kitchen before and during your stay. The virtual hotel concierge sends texts, responds to guest needs and sends a list of nearby attractions each morning.
