Singapore Airlines unveiled its first Airbus A350 that will hopefully allow passengers to fly 19 hours without much jet lag.
The plane sports an extra-wide body, so the 253-passenger aircraft is six inches wider than a Boeing 787 for improved shoulder space.
Singapore Airlines is consistently rated highly, with the widest business-class seats in the industry. In economy, there’s plenty of room too, along with HD video screens, foot rests, tray tables with vanity mirrors, two USB ports, a universal power outlet and more. With these added comforts, passengers can rest more easily on long flights and arrive refreshed.
In addition, the A350 pressurizes the cabin to a more comfortable level, which also eases jet lag. A humidification system helps ease the dehydration that can occur from flying. And finally, there’s an LED lighting system with 16.7 million shades of color, which can simulate different phases of the day.
These planes are also being used by Qatar Airways, Vietnam Airlines, Finnair and TAM, and more orders are being placed by other airlines.
