The wildly popular NYC-based restaurant group Serafina will open a beach hotel in Puerto Rico — hoping to translate its popular restaurant brand into a successful resort endeavor. The new hotel, set to open March 2018, will be located on Condado Beach along the Ashford Avenue strip, only five minutes from popular Old Town San Juan.
The property features waterfront views, an oceanfront infinity pool with oversized cabanas, vibrant lobby bar and an Italian restaurant, aMare. The restaurant will feature traditional Italian seafood with Puerto Rican flavors, bringing in elements of the ocean location together with its popular brand. Food and cocktails will be available by the pool on the semi-private beach for guests’ convenience.
Décor in the hotel is described as having a bohemian charm with minimalist décor and a tropical twist. Activities in the area include exploring the El Yunque Rainforest or kayaking through the bioluminescent bays.
The hotel group hopes a boost in tourism will help aid in the recovery of Puerto Rico after the devastation of Hurricane Maria.
