Last week, the Seoul Metropolitan Government and Singapore Tourism Board signed an agreement to increase tourism between the two destinations. The agreement is the first Memorandum of Cooperation between the two and addresses growth in three primary areas. “The MOC between SMG and STB will help unlock new opportunities for both destinations through tourism exchanges and cross-marketing efforts. Last year, Singapore received about 580,000 South Koreans, a 7.5 per cent increase over 2014. We look forward to welcoming more visitors from South Korea, an important source market, with this collaboration,” said Lynette Pang, assistant chief executive, marketing, Singapore Tourism Board. The two organizations agreed to share tourism-related knowledge and experience to enhance the quality of tourism products and services; facilitate marketing and promotional activities in each other’s countries; and encourage local businesses, tourism companies and travel and tourism festivals to cooperate with the new efforts.
