From May 1, 2016, Scoot will operate services to Jeddah, taking over the route from parent company Singapore Airlines. The transfer of operations to Scoot will result in an increase in capacity to and from the Saudi Arabian city. Singapore Airlines currently flies the route to Jeddah (JED) via Dubai (DXB) three times per week with 285-seat Airbus A330-300s. Subject to regulatory approvals, Scoot will offer the route non-stop three times per week between Singapore (SIN) and Jeddah with 335-seat Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft.
