Scenic Train Routes in Europe with Eurail

Explore Europe’s stunning scenery while on a Eurail journey. The train service offers travelers access to more than 40,000 destinations throughout Europe, all accessible via its Eurail Pass. Check out these scenic train routes on your next trip.

The Bergen Railway

Running between Bergen and Oslo, this route brings travelers through Norway’s most stunning landscapes. The route is frequently on best-of train ride lists. Take in views of Norwegian fjords and snow-covered mountains on this seven-hour trip.

 

Bernina Express

The Bernina Express route runs from Switzerland to Italy. The train features panoramic cars, perfect for taking in the sights of Chur, Davos and St. Moritz, Switzerland, and Tirano, Italy. The four-hour route passes through 55 tunnels and 196 bridges and viaducts. The route is available year-round, offering different views seasonally.

Rhine Valley Line

Experience Germany on the Rhine Valley Line. The route passes through the towns of Koblenz and Mainz before heading into the country’s wine-producing region. Enjoy picturesque views of riverside vineyards and historic castles during your journey.

 

Semmering Bahn

Designated as the world’s first railway on UNESCO’s World Heritage List in 1998, the Semmering Bahn brings travelers through Austria. Travelers cross over 16 viaducts and 15 tunnels between Glognitz and Semmering, all the while experiencing Austria’s beautiful natural landscapes.
