Tucked away between the verdant hills of the Dominican Republic and beautiful waters of the Caribbean Sea, Samaná is the perfect year-round destination. No matter what time of year you choose to visit this hidden gem, you can check things off your travel bucket list. In the summer, escape the busy tourism hot spots and explore off-the-beaten path areas and activities; in the winter, embark on an eco-excursion like whale watching in Samaná Bay.

Although there are plenty of other popular destinations in the Dominican Republic, Samaná’s main appeal is its natural beauty and attractions, allowing travelers to explore the miles of turquoise waters, tangled mangroves, scenic beaches and stunning waterfalls.

To go along with Samaná’s rich atmosphere and local experience, Bahia Principe Luxury Samaná offers a hidden adults-only retreat. The property’s 149 luxurious rooms at the resort look out over the beautiful Samaná coastline. The resort offers a perfect balance of wellness and relaxation for guests looking to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of life.

Immerse in extreme relaxation and harmony at Bahia Spa. The on-site spa overlooking the Samaná Bay offers a unique massage, which features an oil infused with an herb and tree bark national rum. Guests can also choose from special couple massages, hot stone massages, facials and more.

During your stay, take advantage of whale-watching opportunities. The Samaná Bay serves as the home to more than 3,000 humpback whales visiting every year from the North Atlantic during breeding and mating season.

Another must-see attraction is Los Haitises National Park, which features rich biodiversity and caves marked with native Taino hieroglyphs. Travelers can also go horseback riding through the jungle and visit the beautiful Salto del Limon waterfall.

Amansara Review

It was more than a car journey; it was a transition between worlds. At our first hotel in Siem Reap, huge coaches constantly pulled up outside the lobby to deposit or receive international tour groups; we departed in very different style, in a 1965 black Mercedes limousine once owned by King Sihanouk. The mundanities of mass tourism were left behind. We progressed through the chaotic Cambodian streets in regal comfort and soon arrived at a solid gate.

The Argosaronic Islands Are Calling

The Saronic or Argo Saronic Islands of Greece call travelers to explore its seven small islands and islets brimming with history, natural sites and more. With most easily accessible by boat, the islands’ proximity to ports of Athens make the Saronic Islands an ideal destination for those preferring shorter boat rides. In fact, trips from Athens ports to the islands take only between 10 minutes and two hours, depending on the island you choose, making them perfect for day or weekend trips. From Piraeus port, you can access Hydra, Spetses, Aegina and Poros directly. Come explore these stunning islands with us and find the inspiration to plan your next trip to these islands. Hydra Hydra town curves around a slope overlooking the Argosaronic Gulf like an amphitheater and is considered one of the most romantic destinations in Greece. Most unique to the island is its lack of vehicles. People on the island get around on mules and donkeys as well as water taxis, making for a peaceful and laid-back day. Hydra lies a two-hour ferry ride from Piraeus port in Athens.
