The first of Royal Caribbean’s Perfect Day Island Collection, Perfect Day at CocoCay, opened earlier this month as a $250 million private island with the tallest waterslide in North America and the Caribbean’s largest wave pool.
The island’s Thrill Waterpark includes seven single-rider waterslides, six multi-rider slides, a wave pool and an interactive obstacle water course. Oasis Lagoon features the largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean and three coves catering to families, relaxers and those in need of a drink at the swim-up bar.
Other attractions include a helium balloon that gives riders the highest vantage point in the Bahamas; a 1,600-foot zip line course; and sports facilities for basketball, volleyball and soccer. Water sports are also available.
Island dining includes casual eats at Captain Jack’s, Skipper’s Grill and Chill Grill.
“Royal Caribbean is the proven leader when it comes to pushing the envelope in cruise ship design and the experiences offered at sea,” said Michael Bayley, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean International. “With Perfect Day at CocoCay, we are so proud to bring our 50-year legacy of innovation ashore to transform an incredible island that now completely revolutionizes private destinations in the vacation industry. It is exciting to see what we have dreamed up finally come to life; our guests truly are in for an experience unlike any other.”
