Rosewood Vienna opened Aug. 1, marking Rosewood’s first hotel in the German-speaking market and its fifth European property. The 19th-century hotel, situated at Petersplatz, sits just steps away from many of Vienna’s historical and cultural sites, including St. Stephen Cathedral and Kunsthistorisches Museum. Guests won’t even have to leave the hotel to immerse themselves in the rich history of Vienna, as the hotel encompasses the apartment where Mozart lived and wrote The Abduction from the Seraglio.
Boasting 71 spacious guestrooms and 28 suites, Rosewood Vienna lies in a former bank and incorporates details of the historic building and of the city’s art history throughout the property. Embracing visual art, the hotel sees work by contemporary artists in its guestrooms and throughout the hotel. In addition to these pieces, murals by Austrian artist Marie Hartig adorn Salon Aurelie, the hotel’s lobby lounge. Salon Aurelie brings together decorative palm fronds, flora and butterflies, paying homage to Vienna’s Palmenhaus Art Nouveau conservatory.
Rosewood Vienna also features a brasserie on the sixth floor and a rooftop bar on the seventh, providing guests with stunning views of Vienna’s Old Town. On the fifth floor, guests find Neue Hoheit, the hotel’s restaurant. Neue Hoheit embraces classic Austrian millwork into its design to allow guests to enjoy an ambience of a Viennese coffeehouse. The restaurant not only serves European dishes but also presents Austrian classics, all based on seasonal market ingredients.
The rooms and suites comprise four of the hotel’s seven floors. Neutral colors provide warmth and refinement, with handcrafted brass wall-light fixtures, custom-made furnishings and a minibar of walnut, leather and locally sourced gray marble, accenting the calming palette.
Rosewood Vienna proudly hosts Asaya Spa, the first at a Rosewood property outside of Asia. Extending over floors five and six, Asaya Spa offers four treatment rooms and a social suite, a relaxation area, sauna, steam bath and experience shower. The spa allows guests to also enjoy views of the dome and bell towers of St. Peter’s Church.

Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa is an award-winning resort on Coconut Road in Bonita Springs, Florida, on the Gulf Coast between Naples and Fort Myers. The property, with 26 acres of tropical landscaping, multiple water slides and numerous dining venues, is a beautiful resort. Last month, I brought my 13-year-old grandson to the property for two days of water-sliding in balmy mid-December weather.

Jan 8, 2025Restaurant Christophe Hay Review
Chef Christophe Hay had already achieved an enviable culinary reputation before he transformed the former 17th-century riverfront hospice in Blois to an extraordinary first-floor namesake restaurant; it’s the centerpiece around which he built Fleur de Loire, his 44-room, 12-suite Relais & Châteaux affiliate.
