Last month Radisson hotel brands announced its support of the Global FoodBanking Network and Feeding America by donating at least 1 million meals annually through the No Room for Hunger program.

The brand is dedicated to fighting hunger through their initiative domestically and around the world. Hunger and food insecurity are associated with poorer health outcomes across one’s lifetime. There are nearly 800 million people suffering from hunger across the globe.

“Radisson believes in making simple connections, with our guests, our team members and within our community. By becoming stewards in the fight against hunger, it gives us the opportunity to take care of those in need,” said Roger Chacko, chief marketing and branding officer, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group. “We are excited to make this commitment and partner with two amazing organizations, The Global FoodBanking Network and Feeding America. We will support the cause in a variety of ways, from monetary donations and a suite of marketing activations at the brand level to employee volunteer activities and inviting our guests to participate in upcoming food drives across the Radisson portfolio.”

The USDA reports nearly one in eight people in the United States struggle with hunger. The brand plans on hosting annual food drives, getting involved at local food banks and creating awareness of the issue through team meetings and events.

“Feeding America is excited to be part of Radisson’s new initiative to fight hunger domestically and around the world,” said Nancy Curby, interim senior vice president of development, Feeding America. “Thanks to partners like Radisson, we are able to provide food and groceries to 46 million Americans.”
