Accor hotel group’s new 153-room Pullman Sydney Penrith property, part of Western Sydney Conference Centre, opened in August 2023, and features Penrith’s first 5-star hotel; a spacious conference and events space; a wellness and fitness center; and the upscale, European-inspired Marcel Bar and Bistro.
With a new Western Sydney international airport opening in 2026 and billions of dollars in infrastructure projects already announced, including the $71 million Panthers district development in Sydney’s western suburb of Penrith, the region is set to see a boom in travel and business. The Sydney suburb of Penrith is on its way to becoming a major business and leisure destination, with additional major infrastructure projects underway to further enhance its reputation, including the upcoming Western Sydney International Airport, set to open in 2026, and only a 15-minute drive away.
The hotel’s location offers travelers and conference delegates a central base for exploring Sydney and the nearby Blue Mountains and coastal areas.
The ribbon-like shape of the building was inspired by nearby Nepean River, and polished metal ceiling panels under the hotel’s roof reflect a shimmering light. Greenery is predominantly native species, with more than 75 trees and 8,000 plants, all maintained using sustainable watering practices.
Executive Chef Colin Chun oversees the culinary vision for Pullman Sydney Penrith and the Western Sydney Conference Center. On the first floor, atop a sweeping central staircase, Marcel Bar & Bistro is a Bauhaus-inspired design in primary colors and sleek shapes. The modern European restaurant offers cuisine celebrating the area’s abundant produce. Next to the restaurant is a stunning wine cellar where guests can browse, talk to sommeliers and choose their bottles. The name of the restaurant pays homage to the late Marcel Breuer, a renowned architect whose only Australian building is heritage-listed and located in Penrith.
Tori is a modern lobby bar offering all-day light bites and local coffee bean roasters and pastries for breakfast, before changing to a live music venue and evening drinks spot.
The property’s guestrooms offer natural skincare amenities from Australian firm Hunter Lab, Nespresso coffee machines and a selection of local brands in the minibars. There are also pre-programmed selections of background sounds, colors and room lighting settings to choose from for sleeping or wake-up ambiance.
The fitness and wellness center are designed for professional athletes at the highest level, and is equipped with advanced technology featuring Watt bikes, Woodway treadmills, Assault bikes, SkiErgs, squat racks, an Olympic lifting platform, resistance machines and weights. There is also a custom-built, 10-person sauna, helping guests detoxify and destress. With 1,000 seats, the hotel’s conference center offers flexible spaces, as well as all-wireless audiovisual technology and smart wall mechanics.

Apr 17, 2024Amansara Review
It was more than a car journey; it was a transition between worlds. At our first hotel in Siem Reap, huge coaches constantly pulled up outside the lobby to deposit or receive international tour groups; we departed in very different style, in a 1965 black Mercedes limousine once owned by King Sihanouk. The mundanities of mass tourism were left behind. We progressed through the chaotic Cambodian streets in regal comfort and soon arrived at a solid gate.
