Travel already has plenty of challenges without adding identify theft to the mix. Innovations that allow you to protect your personal information from would-be hackers and electronic pickpockets include the new SignalVault system: two slender cards the same size as your driver’s license that slip into your wallet on either side of your credit and debit cards, creating radio frequency identification blocking and signal protection.

The new E-Field Technology functions without batteries, charging or activation, and is unaffected by the scanners used in airports and courthouses. Designed to last for three years with normal use, the SignalVault microchip is rated at 100,000 protection cycles — which the company describes as “the equivalent of a hacker attempting to steal your information ten times per day for 25 years.”

Along with the card system, SignalVault also offers a TravelVault RFID passport case and a travel wallet, available in both black and pink, with built-in signal protection. Tested in their Electromagnetic Interference Chamber by Qualtest, Inc. (now part of N.T.S., the leading independent test, inspection and certification company in the United States), the SignalVault cards are also customizable to include company branding.
