Visitors of the 83rd Annual Atlanta Dogwood Festival can revel in entertainment backdropped by the city’s lovely blooms, April 12–14. Set within Piedmont Park, the event will include a juried artist’s market with 260 artists hand-selected from more than 1,000 entries. Live entertainment includes headliner bands on the Main Stage, and local dance troupes performing on the International Stage.
The Saturday morning Mimosa 5K race will also be part of this year’s events, with a route that winds through the historic Midtown neighborhood. The race ends with a bubbly toast in Piedmont Park. Elsewhere, “edutainment” booths hosted by local consulates and global organizations help bring awareness of the many cultures that make up the city’s population.
Food is served in the VIP Tent that overlooks the Main Stage, with ticketed culinary events showcasing local chefs and restaurants, offering great Southern fare and a dedicated bar.
For kids and families, two separate kid’s zones are available: Kids Village with hands-on activities and the Midway with a selection of fun rides. There’s also the disc-dog competition, hosted by The Greater Atlanta Dog & Disc Club; and the Art Throwdown, a timed art competition where teams of high school artists create art in front of festivalgoers on the Community Center lawn.
