Connecting from international to domestic flights can be a serious headache as it involves exiting an airport´s secure zone, claiming baggage, re-checking baggage and trudging through security screenings once again. Oslo Airport devised a solution to this debacle through the implementation of more simple transfer process. The airport in Norway´s capital introduced a project called Connecting Norway, which will make it easier for travelers to transfer from international flights and terminals to domestic flights. The program is currently available for passengers aboard SAS, Widerøe or Norwegian airlines, and improves the overall connectivity process for travelers between international and domestic terminals. When travelers land at Oslo Airport, they follow signs to make their transfer to their connecting flight. An electronic display board will inform travelers when their connecting flight is prepared and their bags have been transferred successfully. Once confirmed, guests will still have to proceed through customs, but the process is as simple as scanning a travel document, such as a boarding pass, the credit card used to purchase the plane ticket or the barcode on a mobile device. The program is still in its pilot stages, but Oslo Airport hopes to integrate more airlines in the future.
