With a rapid increase of trans-Atlantic routes within the past year, Norwegian Air quietly became the go-to airline for cheap, no-frills international travel. This year, the low-cost carrier will introduce 11 additional routes to serve its growing customer bases in Europe and North America.
Beginning this summer, Norwegian will fly passengers from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Los Angeles International Airport to Amsterdam (AMS), Madrid (MAD) and Milan (MXP), all non-stop fights. The Los Angeles–Milan route will be the only non-stop flight between the two cities when it debuts, and Norwegian will be the only carrier to offer year-round routes between Los Angeles and both Madrid and Milan.
At their cheapest, flights from Los Angeles to Madrid and Milan will start at $229 for a one-way journey. From New York, non-stop flights will start at $199 to Amsterdam and $229 to Madrid. As with all Norwegian flights, these are base fares and only include taxes and a seat on the plane. Checked bags, in-flight meals and other services can be purchased à la carte.
