Karisma Hotels & Resorts, with luxury hotels in Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe, announced its Holidays for Your Heroes initiative. The program will donate 150 luxury, all-inclusive resort stays to essential workers and their families with its Karisma Foundation and partners.
Through June 30, the public can nominate everyday heroes deserving of a five-day vacation at a resort in Latin America or the Caribbean. To nominate someone, submit a short explanation of why they are deserving through Instagram using #HolidaysForYourHeroes. Winners will be selected in July, and the prize is redeemable once restrictions are lifted.
Some of the properties included are El Dorado Royale, A Spa Resort by Karisma; Azul Beach Resort Negril, by Karisma; Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts in Punta Cana; and Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Cancun in Mexico.

Saint Lucia announced a phased plan to reopen island tourism responsibly, beginning June 4. Phase One includes welcoming international flights at Hewanorra International Airport from the United States only. In preparation, 1,500 hotel rooms are being prepared to open. The approach to reopening continues through July 31.

New research from the Global Business Travel Association shows a bit of optimism for the travel industry. GBTA conducted its seventh poll (since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic) of its membership May 13–15, and received 1,705 member company responses.
