A new digital resource is available to those with accessibility issues traveling to New York City. The new portal on NYCgo.com features engaging content, inspirational articles and interactive search features allowing travelers to search for what they need by providing information on hotels, restaurants, attractions, events and more.

“Every single person who visits should be able to experience the countless attractions offered throughout New York City,” said New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio. “Our goal is to make sure accessibility does not stand in the way of enjoying incredible destinations across all five boroughs. Accessible NYC visitor resources help make that goal a reality.”

Articles on the site provide in-depth content for those with disabilities, including detailed information on how to navigate Broadway theaters and Lincoln Center, and a how-to guide for enjoying the city’s most popular outdoor attractions and entertainment.

In addition to its new accessibility features, the NYCgo.com website, redesigned in 2016, features a mobile-friendly, responsive design.

“With more than 60 million people visiting NYC every year, we estimate that six million of them (10 percent) are people with disabilities, and making informed decisions before they leave will ensure that their time spent visiting the Greatest City in the World is spent in the most accessible places,” said Victor Calise, commissioner, Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities. “Gaining access to everything the city has to offer regardless of your disability is at the core of what our office does, and Accessible NYC achieves that.”
